Chapter 9

Hello!

This blog post I know is a little late but i was quite busy last week, finishing off assignments and then travelling back to Ireland, and I'm here now!

Last Monday we had a really short session where basically we received verbal feedback on our production, what was wrong with it and what was right with it! I think overall I am happy with that module after the first semester.

In contemporary media studies last week we concluded the game assignment and then we had a short lecture on narrative and storytelling. After this we had to get into groups and construct a linear or non-linear story throughout the Screen School using the first line of a book, which we were given on a small piece of paper. Me, Mark and Lois were put into a group and we had really good fun throughout the lesson, we used different forms of media to carry the story through, for example we had a Facebook status, a Dictaphone and others.

In digital media tools, we screened all of our animations. Unfortunately me and Sam haven't been able to completely finish the animation because we haven't had a chance to use the after effects software, but after Christmas Ian is going to give us a hand to finish it off.

For creativity and concept we have had two assignments and I am glad to say I have them both done thank goodness! They weren't too hard actually just quite time consuming. The essay I found not too bad to write, but I am new to referencing so hopefully I've done it right. The Screenr presentation on reflection was quite interesting to do actually because the research I did had me reading certain peoples thoughts and expert opinions. As well as this, it was actually a good reflection process doing the Screenr ironically!

On Friday we had our last film language class where we got our exam results back. I got a 2.1 (62) which I'm really happy with, at least I know I'm on the right path I guess. After this we had a Christmas party which was fun and it wrapped up the semester well :)

Merry Christmas everyone!

Josh Out.
